The program aims at popularizing sports and channeling resources to high potential athletes. The vision is to harness community building, preventive healthware and counter-delinquency potential of sports.
5000 Scholarships are on offer in SPAT 2012 for aspiring athlete in 8-19 years age group for year 2012-13.

- To build a popular sports culture in the state, particularly in schools, - To ensure that everyone in 8-19 years has a SPAT score, an objective indicator of standard of fitness that parents and teachers can respond appropriately to, - To increase playing population and thereby maintain supply-line of talented athletes for high-end tournaments, - To campaign for more fund in school-level tournaments, more income and career opportunities in sports. - To campaign for 'Right to Play' . It means giving young citizens as a matter of right access to optimum physical activity through sports. Idea is to help them grow into healthy adults and develop key personality differentiators like commitment, competitiveness and enterprise.
